Click. Pointless sports games
Click. Some rap music video.
Click. Yet another ghost hunter movie.
The tiny teenager sighed, as she finally gave up, turning the massive television off and setting the remote on the couch beside her. She closed her eyes for a moment, placing her pale fingers on her stomach as she laid upside down. Her hair was in a low bun, just below her shoulders, leaving several dark strands to hang around her face. She was dressed in a mixture of her costume and street clothes, her usual boots over top of skinny jeans that were torn to reveal the white leggings, a solid lavender t-shirt, and a bow mixed midst the wavy mass of hair. She doubted that she would be needed any time soon, and if anybody rung in with a problem, she could easily wander over to check it out on the board.
Still, sometimes she wished she was gifted with something more useful, like super strength. At this time in the afternoon, there were rarely Titans just sitting about. Most of them were on call or out patrolling. Being a horrible fighter, it had been decided early on that Vanessa would not make a good Titan to ship off to beat up villains, and that if she were to patrol, she couldn't go alone. Half the time, she wasn't even sure if she knew all of the current Titans. After all, most of them were never around, especially new ones who were out trying to prove themselves. Not that she had been around for very long, but a few months was better than a few weeks or even a few days.
Growing bored and impatient, she opened her eyes and picked up the remote control once more. It had only been a few minutes, but perhaps she would see shows that had previously been showing commercials. She flicked through some more channels, before finally picking a show to watch. It was a show on forensics and the testing of liquids that were collected at crime scenes. How ironic, she noted with a smirk as she continued to watch it upside-down. She guessed that she would be much better at identifying than the scientists, but it was always amusing to see how normal people went about trying to have superpowers.

The door opened automatically as Serenity came racing into the room being chased by a very pissed off dove. Sometimes it was fun for the emerald eyed psychic just to drive her favorite ghost nuts. Of course there would be retribution later but she was good at avoiding that. "It's not my fault that you wanted to play cards you stupid bird." she said and wished that she could duck behind something that the dove couldn't just go right through. That was getting old right now.
Sorina squawked loudly in the blond's ear and pecked her in the side of the head, "You said you would play nice." she growled irritably.
Serenity ducked behind Nessa and as Sorina flew through the titans head she swatted her back through, "Hey you know playing poker with me is a bad idea in principal." she said as Sorina began to cool down and sat down next to Venessa, "Hey," she said with a smile and glanced at the screen, "Well that's ironic." she said with a smile as she saw what was on TV.

Vanessa's attention shot over as Serenity barged in, eyes glimmering in amusement and joy as she was no longer stranded alone. Thank goodness there was someone to entertain, and she wouldn't feel left out of the loop. She still wasn't sure if the psychic medium was an official Titan, but she sure hung around enough to be one. She smiled faintly as she had an argument - Nessa had never seen Sorina, but it wasn't very often that people like Serenity just talked to themselves. Her nose crinkled slightly as the chaos continued, shutting her eyes for a moment until it gradually calmed back down.
Nessa flipped over on the couch and sat up, crossing her legs on the cushion. She brushed a dark curl behind her shoulder, closer to the loose She beamed at Serenity. "Hello there!" Her usual sunny demeanor was incredibly obvious, and a large step up from the bored teenager impression she had only minutes before. She giggled softly, glancing at the television screen. "I think these shows are silly."
She paused for a moment, searching for something to make conversation to fill the empty room. "So how has the... erm... crime-fighting been going?"

Serenity shrugged she wasn't sure what Venessa had been doing before the blond had burst into the room intent on avoiding getting pummeled by a dove. She would never have been able to live that one down. "Well I'm pretty sure there isn't going to be much trouble today, just a drug bust or two." she said and glanced into the future for a moment to make sure that Matty wasn't going to be there. "Nothing they can't handle on their own, Oh and a spirit is going to go rampaging down the back allies of the docks If I don't manage to stop it later." she said with a sigh, she wasn't looking forward to that but what can you do? Other than ignore the problem.

"Nothing for me to do, though. Bane offered to take my post patrolling this morning - told him I was PMSing, and he decided the criminals were safer in his hands.", added Shift, as she wandered in from the kitchen, having heard the voices of her teammates. The lithe teenager was wearing her usual costume - a black tanktop, black pants and long boots, with a simple green stripe running down the side of them. Her communicator was also clipped onto the bulky belt she wore that day, one with a skull glaring from the buckle of it. Her usual peircings were each in their place - two on each eyebrow, three on both pointed ears and one on her bottom lip. Her tank top rid up just enough to see a glint of silver stud poking from her belly button.
She watched the two as she fell silent. The honorary Titan and the newest addition to the team, respectively Serenity and Vanessa. One knew more about her than most full fledged Titans, and the other only knew her as the leader of the Titans - unless 'Nessa had been talking to the others on the team, in which case the pessimistic shape shifter supposed the other girl thought she was an uptight, cold ice queen. Serenity smiled and glanced back at Athena, most people especially those who she was used to watching were never able to sneak up on her, she liked it that way, "Hey Shiftie you planning on joining us?" she asked as she felt the dove on her shoulder jump and her talons poke holes through her shirt. Serenity herself didn't feel the talons much as this exact action from her fowl friend had happened one to many times and she was now very used to it.

Nessa couldn't restrain the smile, there was absolutely no way her infectious habit of being way too cheerful was going to give in. Especially not after an excuse like that. She glanced at the television as the show concluded, rolling her eyes as the narrator listed some lame summary. As much as technology was growing in accuracy and precision, she had a feeling that she was always going to be better than some machine hooked up to another machine. She glanced over at the other two as the credits quickly ran, her attention on the show not deep enough to care through names of people she didn't know.
The Titans were such an odd group. The last time they were a large trend, she was pretty sure they were an unusual family. Alas, they had a few aliens, some people to carry on their parent's legacies, and just some random supers. That made not only personalities vastly different, but everybody had some rather unique power. Vanessa's childish naivety and joy rarely fit with the idea of a crime fighter, whereas it seemed obvious that some others on the team were flawless in the position.
Nessa glanced at the television of a different episode of a similar show came on, crinkling her nose. Sometimes she wondered if she ever got tired of hanging around people like her, if she would just go into forensics. After all, she would always know what that mysterious liquid was. She tugged on a dark curl before shrugging a bit and looking back at the others.

Shift shrugged at Serenity questioned her, and gave her blonde freind a playful annoyed look. "Don't go there - 'Shiftie' is almost as bad as ''Thena'.", the dark green-skinned teenager said, walking closer and, with the ease of repeated practice, dropped down on the other side of the couch, landing with a dull 'thump' on the cushion. Turning a little, she kept talking, her peircings catching the light from the lamps slightly.
"And you know I only let you guys call me that because you never actually stopped.", the Titan said with a slightly crooked smile. Over her plentiful protests, all of the Titans - and, of course, the honorary blonde one - kept calling her 'Thena. 'Athena', apperantly, was too long for them to bother saying, and calling Shift all the time was kind of weird and formal.

Serenity rolled her emerald eyes which were shining with laughter, "Yeah right, the only thing you can to do stop me from doing that is by throwing me out which is never going to happen," she said with a knowing grin. Even though she wasn't even sure if she was a titan or not anymore she practically lived in the tower. "Besides it's not half as bad as what Sorina calls you." she lied smoothly, she would have been able to get away with it to if it hadn't been for that meddling dove yelling, "WHAT?" so forcefully that the other two could probably hear her.

The green furred Titan pointed a finger at Serenity, the slight smile on one side of her face showing she was only jesting as the Titan answered. "Don't tempt me, ghost girl. And your little bird, too." As the blonde mention Sorina, the shifters' eyebrows went up - and was that an echo, or something else? Her imagination; that must be it.
"Oh yeah? What's she call me?", Athena asked, bending one of her legs at an angle so she could pull off the boot stuck on the end of it. In doing so, she ended up snuggled up against one arm rest and the back cushion of the couch, her knee a few inches from brushing against Vanessa's.
